Worship Together
Share in some faith practices of worship together!
Shine a Light: Make a light (candle, flashlight, light switch) and sing “This Little Light of Mine”
Sing Together: Sing a song about love!
Examples: “Give a little love away. Give it, give it, give it today. Give it with a song. Give it all day long. Give a little love away.” OR
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind and love all humankind as you would love yourself…”
Make an Offering: How will you make an offering today?
Read the Bible Together
Talk About It!
Have you ever needed a bandaid? What happened? Who helped you make it feel better?
Jesus was a helper! Oftentimes, he would help others by healing their sickness. Jesus could heal people by touching them, like in the Spark Bible story, “Jesus Heals”, and Jesus could also heal people from far away, like in John 4:46-54, when Jesus heals the official’s son. We can’t do miracle healings like Jesus, but Jesus did tell us exactly what we can do. In the bible, in John 13:34, Jesus says, “I give you a new command. Love one another. You must love one another as I have loved you.” We can heal people’s sadness with kindness and love and standing up for those who suffer. What are your favorite ways to show love to the world – here (at home), near (in your church/school/town), or far (another state/country)?
Family Activity Choices
Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.
BEE well: Get some sticky notes or other paper and draw a little bee. Write some happy notes like: Bee well, Bee kind, Bee rested, Bee fair, Bee healthy, etc. Then buzz around your house leaving the notes for your family to find!
Lift You Up card: Trace and cut-out your hand shapes and draw a heart on each palm. Make an emoji face with a smile and hearts for eyes. Glue those three items on a piece of colorful paper. Write, “I want to lift you up today!” Send or give to someone you think could use some cheering up! (Free idea from: GluedToMyCraftsBlog.com)
Pray Together
“Dear God, thank you for your miracles of healing. Help us remember that we can ask for your help anytime we feel sick or sad. Thank you for telling us to love one another so we can be healing hearts and hands here on earth. Amen.“
Bless Each Other
At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.
Put a bandaid on each other, then say “God made you a great healer!”
