Talk About It!

Have fun asking question for all your family members!

How was your summer? What are some of your favorite memories?

This summer we had a lot of fun looking at some of the BIG stories of the Bible. Think back to some of your favorites. All those stories are filled with people who were filled with God’s love and shared it with others through love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. All those things are what the Apostle Paul called  “the fruit of the spirit,” which simply means ways God designed in each and everyone of us to share His love. Sometimes it’s super easy, like giving someone a hug is “gentleness”. But sometimes it’s hard, like giving someone else a turn first is “patience”. Where have you seen the fruit of God’s Spirit of love this summer?

Dig Deeper: In our video Leah read Maybe God is Like That Too? by Jennifer Grant. Can you think of any books you have at home that shows someone loving with one of the “fruits”?

Family Activity Choices

Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.

Activity: Where do you see God? Look through your family pictures from the summer and point out times you saw God’s love in nature, an activity or being given to each other.

Pray Together

Dear God, thank you for showing me love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control all summer! Amen.

Bless Each Other

At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.

Say to each other “You are a marvelous child of God!” and reply “And I love you very much!”
