Join us each week as a family to celebrate the new life of spring with stories of new life Jesus brings!

Pick from watching our Welcome Videos, Worship Together, Reading the Bible, Talk About It, Family Activities, Pray Together and Bless Each Other – or do them all!

Welcome Videos

Start by picking a Welcome Video from Miss Karla for Grades 1-4
or Miss Renee for littles-Kindergartners or watch both!

Worship Together

Share in some faith practices of worship together!

Shine a Light: Light a candle or find a flashlight. Take turns saying, “Jesus shows the way.”

Sing Together:

Littles: Down down down came the Holy Spirit, with love love love for all to hear it, Alleluia!

Grades 1-4: Camp song: Fill my cup and let it overflow, oh-oh-oh. Fill my cup and let it overflow, oh-oh yeah!
Fill my cup and let it overflow, let it overflow with lo-ve.

Jesus loves me this I know, oh-oh-oh. For the Bible tells me so, oh-yeah!
Little ones to Him belong, they are weak but He is str-ong.

The Holy Spirit stays with me, ee-ee-ee. With truth and wisdom sets me free, o-oh yeah!
Guides my choices everyday, helps me all along life’s way.

Make an Offering: How can you be an offering this week?

Read the Bible Together

Read this week’s God’s Great Story in the children’s Bible for you child’s age.

Spark Story Bible – Pentecost pg 400
Bible – Acts 1: 1-5 and Acts 2:1-4

Talk About It!

Have fun asking question for all your family members!

Today we celebrate Pentecost. Pentecost happens fifty days after Easter, but just ten days after Ascension, (when Jesus went back to Heaven.) Before he left, Jesus asked his followers to wait for a gift from God before going out to start their ministries. That gift was the Holy Spirit. It blew into town with strong wind, tongues of flame, and the disciples suddenly had the ability to speak and understand new languages. It was just the help they needed to go out into the world proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ! Pentecost is like the birthday of the Christian church. A wonderful gift was given to celebrate the start of something new and we remember and celebrate every year!

Dig Deeper: The “Holy Spirit”, or “God’s spirit”, or the “Spirit of the Lord’ is mentioned many times in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Practice your Bible skills by looking up these passages: Job 33:4, John 14:26, Isaiah 11:2, and Romans 8:14.

Family Activity Choices

Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.

Activity 1: Playing with wind: Appreciate the force of wind and breath! Fly a kite, blow some bubbles, put a tissue on your face and blow it up in the air – try to stay underneath it and keep it airborne!

Activity 2: Water experiment: Try to recreate the experiment from Karla’s video. Get a large bowl of water. Put a dry paper towel inside a small drinking cup. Turn the cup upside down and place and submerge it in the water. After waiting a bit, pull the cup straight back up out of the water. See if the extra air in the glass protected the paper towel from getting wet. (The water represents life’s troubles, the paper towel is you, and the air in the cup is the invisible force of the Holy Spirit.)

Pray Together

“Dear God, thank you for the power of the Holy Spirit surrounding us and helping us. Help us to be reminded often of your constant love and support. Amen.”

Bless Each Other

At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.

Make a birthday candle with your finger, make a wish for the church, then blow it out.
