Holy Moly! Saul to Paul

Join us each week as a family to have fun together with some of God’s great stories. In August we’re diving into stories of the super heroes of the Bible!

Start by picking a welcome video from Miss Karla or Miss Renee

Worship Together

Make the sign of the cross (Touch forehead, then heart. Touch one shoulder, then the other.) As you make the cross say, “Love God, Love Neighbor.”

Offering

How will you make an offering today?

Sing

School Age: Thank you, God for giving us life. Thank you, God for giving us life. Thank you, God for giving us life, right where we are! Alleluia, praise the Lord! Alleluia, praise the Lord!  Alleluia, praise the Lord, right where we are!

Littles: Pick any of your favorite songs from the summer!

Sharing and Discussion

Change comes in lots of different ways. What are some changes you notice in the weather? What are some changes you made because of the COVID virus? What changes have happened to you since you were a baby? Today’s bible story is about someone changing what they think and how they act after listening to God and Jesus. What does Jesus teach you?

Read the Bible Together

School Age Kids: Acts 9:1-20

Littles: Spark Story Bible page 408 (not in Frolic this week)

Digging deeper:

Why do you think God made Saul blind for three days? Do you think you would be a better listener if you couldn’t see? Why? God sent Ananias to help Saul when he was blind. Who helps you when you have a problem?

Family Activities

Dragonfly craft: Make four dragonfly wings out of a coffee filter or tissue paper. (If using a coffee filter, you can color it with markers and then spray it with water to make the colors run together.) Then go outside and find a stick to be the body. Decorate it with a little string/yarn around the middle, a sparkly gem or sticker for the head and glue or staple on your colorful wings! (See photo for an example.)

Blindly follow: Blindfold someone in your family and let another family member lead them carefully around the room. After each turn, ask the blindfolded person if it was easy to trust or if they were nervous.
