Talk About It!
Have fun asking question for all your family members!
What are you beginning this fall? New school year, new sport, making new friends? What is exciting about beginnings? What is scary about them? What helps you through it?
Our Bible story this week is about creation, the beginning. It’s fun to think about God creating the sky and oceans and all the animals. Are there any animals and plants that you wonder why He made them that way? I got lots of questions about the platypus! But isn’t amazing how made everything so special. And that exactly how He made you, special and unique. So as we start all these new beginnings this fall, remember God loves you and gave you a huge heart. Be loved. Be Kind. Be you!
Dig Deeper: Look up what God created on each “day” and make a list of your favorite of each thing.
Family Activity Choices
Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.
Activity: Explore creation! – Go outside, use a magnifying glass or binoculars and look at all the details of things God created. The texture of tree bark, the details of a leaf, the shape of the clouds. When you see something you like say “It is good!”
Activity: Backpack/Device Blessing – Pick up a blessing tag or stick from church, or copy the image and make one yourself. Then as a family attach it to your backpack or put the sticker on something for school. As you do, say or sing “Jesus loves you this I know, so take that love and let it grow.And be kind everywhere you go. God made you special so let it show. Be loved, be kind, be you!”
Pray Together
“Dear God, thank you for loving me, help me be kind, and thank you for making me the best me! Amen.“
Bless Each Other
At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.
Give each other a hug and say or say to each other “Be loved, be kind, be you!”
