Welcome Videos

Start with a Welcome Video from Miss Leah

Worship Together

Share in some faith practices of worship together!

Shine a Light: Turn on a lamp or flick on a light switch and say “Let there be light! And God said it was good!”

Sing Together: Today’s story is about food, so pick your favorite camp grace and sing it together. A good one is Johnny Appleseed

Make an Offering: How can you be an offering this week?

Read the Bible Together

Read this week’s God’s Great Story in the children’s Bible for you child’s age.

Spark Story Bible “Manna, Quail, and Water” pg 92
Exodus 16:1-18

Talk About It!

Have fun asking question for all your family members!

Have you ever seen something unusual? Something that made you go WOW or huh? I think of things What did you eat for breakfast this morning? What are some of your favorite foods? What fruits and vegetables do you like?

In our story today, people were hungry. What do you say when you’re hungry? How does your tummy sound? Well the people in our story weren’t as cute as I’m sure you just sounded, they were grumpy and whiny. You’re never like that when you’re hungry right?? Well Moses their leader couldn’t figure out how to feed everyone, so he asked God for help. How did God help? It was in a pretty WOW way wasn’t it!

This story shows us that God always provides, he always takes care of us, and that should fill our hearts with thankfulness. How does God provide food for you? Can you thank those people for sharing God’s love by providing for you. Thanks!

Dig Deeper: Can you imagine what it would be like to walk through desert with nothing to eat? What are some words that would best describe your feelings? The Israelites had these feelings. There are refugees today who have these feelings. God provided food for the hungry people. What are some ways that you can provide food for others?

Family Activity Choices

Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.

Activity 1: Sing/act out the story If you need help with this, watch the last minute of Leah’s video again.

Activity 2: Write a letter to your Congressperson Using your own words or the template provided HERE, write to your Congressperson. Urge them to support legislation to help kids around the world get enough to eat and to lift them out of poverty. Make sure to include your name and address. You can find your Congressperson’s office address here: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

Pray Together

“Blessed be God, who is our bread. May all the world be clothed and fed. Amen.

Bless Each Other

At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.

Pretend to hand a piece of food to each other and say “God will always provide!” Then pretend to munch it together!
