October 21-November 27

The Public Ministry Department is excited to announce Nativity’s upcoming community book read of Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. A unique blend of Indigenous wisdom and scientific knowledge, the book offers a rich tapestry of stories that illuminate the importance of living in harmony with Mother Earth.

We’re excited to offer different versions of the book (adult, youth, and family/children’s) to engage all members of our community. We want everyone, regardless of age, to join us on this enlightening reading experience!

To guide us through the book, we’ll post weekly talking points on Nativity’s website to provoke thought, stimulate discussion, and deepen our understanding of the book’s themes. We’ll also host Zoom conversations where we can share our insights, ask questions, and learn from each other’s perspectives.

Adults: Monday, Nov. 27th, 6:30-7:30 pm, via Zoom

Youth: Wednesday, Nov. 29th – at Youth Campfire

This is more than a book read but a journey of discovery, learning, and community-building. Copies are available in our Advocacy Library for purchase and checkout. Contact Dr. Kelly Sherman-Conroy at Kelly@NativityChurch.org for questions.
