Emmanuel: God with us, God’s Got a Plan

The name Emmanuel first shows up in the book of Isaiah and again, centuries later, in the Gospel of Matthew, where we read that it means “God is with us.” We see this promise come to life in the birth of Jesus. In the Gospel of Luke 2:1-20, we hear Jesus’ birth story and how the innkeeper offers Mary and Joseph what the innkeeper had. No act of kindness or generosity is too small with God. God uses the seemingly disappointing gift of the stable to change the world.

The Nativity Community welcomes you to Christmas worship, hearing again the reassuring promise of “God with us” in Pastor Glenn’s Christmas Eve Message, “God’s Got a Plan, Part 1: No Gift Too Small” and the Christmas Day Message of “God’s Got a Plan, Part 2: From the Least to the Most.”
