Worship Together

Share in some faith practices of worship together!

Shine a Light: Light a candle or find a flashlight. Take turns saying, “Jesus shows the way.”

Sing Together: Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong; they are weak, but he is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The bible tells me so. Jesus loves me, blessings flow for his children here below; Old and young are welcome there. Lambs and sheep within his care.

Make an Offering: Put an offering in your Lenten “Piggy” Bank or share an offering another way.

Read the Bible Together

Read this week’s God’s Great Story in the children’s Bible for you child’s age.

Spark Story Bible – The Lost Sheep & The Lost Coin pg 312
Bible – Luke 15:1-32

Talk About It!

Have fun asking question for all your family members!

Do you like to play hide and seek? What you’re favorite hiding spot?

We are still in the season of Lent. Lent is a time of repentance. A time to admit that we make mistakes. The great news is that no mistake can ever separate us from God’s love. We can ask for forgiveness and change our direction by making better choices. In the bible reading this week, Jesus tells about lost and found: the parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin and the prodigal son. If we are lost, God always wants to find us. God always celebrates when we are found. Have you ever lost something special to you? How did you feel? Did you find it again and celebrate?

Dig Deeper: Jesus and God are often called the good shepherd in the bible. (Psalm 23:1 )The lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. (Hebrews 13:20) Our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep. (John 10:11) I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for his sheep. If Jesus is the shepherd, who are the sheep? How does Jesus take care of us and protect us?

Family Activity Choices

Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.

Activity 1: Lost sheep magician game: In your March kit or from your own supplies, use a cotton ball for a sheep, (add a face if you like), and three identical cups that you cannot see through. Put the “sheep” under one of the cups and slide the three cups around quickly like a magician. See if others can guess where the sheep is hiding.

Activity 2: Coin rubbing: Get “The Lost Coin” paper from your kit or click HereTape some coins to the the back of the paper – some inside the purse and one outside the purse. Use a crayon on the front side of the paper to create coin rubbings.

Activity 3: Do Week 3 of Family Lent Activities: Use the “On Earth As In Heaven” Lent packet from you Feb At-Home Kit or download HERE to have some learning how we can bring God’s kingdom to Earth this Lenten season.

Pray Together

“Dear Jesus, thank you for being our good shepherd. Thank you for caring about us, even when we make mistakes and wander away. Thank you for all the good things you teach us: love, joy, patience, and kindness. Thank you for celebrating with us when we practice them! Amen.”

Or keep working on The Lord’s Prayer together!

Bless Each Other

At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.

Play hide & seek and say “God’s love always finds you!”
