Hearts are popping up everywhere as we get closer and closer to Valentine’s Day. Where have you seen a heart? What color heart do you like best? What do hearts remind us of? That’s right, LOVE!
Well our Bible story today is all about love! Late one night, a man named Nicodemus came to visit Jesus and ask all sorts of questions. Nicodemus was a pharisee, which means it was his job to make sure people knew and followed the rules to make God love them. So when he heard of Jesus telling people that God’s love is free, he LOTS of questions. Jesus told him God’s love was already with him, and everyone, even the entire universe. He said when we know God’s love is in our hearts we can’t help share it with others, and when we share God’s love, that is type of world God has always hoped for.

Family Activity Choices
Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.
Activity 1: Nicodemus Says – Play “Simon Says” but change the name to Nicodemus. One person is “Nicodemus” and says rules/actions by saying “Nicodemus says _______”. If they don’t say, “Nicodemus says”, don’t do the rule. See how long everyone can go following the rules, then change who is “Nicodemus”.
Activity 2: The Whole Cosmos – In todays key Bible verse, John 3:16, it can be translated that God loves the whole “cosmos”, all the universe. Pick a planet, star, solar system, or anything out in space to learn more about. Look it up online, most things we actually have pictures of. Then talk about how wondrous it is how God created things and how it shows us His love.
Pray Together
“Dear God, thank you that there are no rules to earn your love. Help me to find ways to share it everyday. Amen.”
Bless Each Other
At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.
Make a heart shape with your hands, then say “God loves you very much!”
