Summer Family Faith Formation – June 13

Join us each week as a family to celebrate the fun of summer with some of the BIG stories of the Bible!

Pick from watching our Welcome Videos, Worship Together, Reading the Bible, Talk About It, Family Activities, Pray Together and Bless Each Other – or do them all!

Welcome Videos

Start by picking a Welcome Video from Miss Leah for Grades 1-4
or Miss Renee for littles-Kindergartners or watch both!

Worship Together

Share in some faith practices of worship together!

Shine a Light: Light a candle or find a flashlight to remind yourselves that Jesus is the light of the world. Jesus is with you, and Jesus is in you. Let your light shine!

Sing Together:

Littles: You Are My True North

Grades 1-4: This Little Light of Mine

Make an Offering: How can you be an offering this week?

Read the Bible Together

Read this week’s God’s Great Story in the children’s Bible for you child’s age.

Watch the Holy Moly Video: The Holy Moly videos series from Spark takes the essentials of the Bible story, adds a bit of humor, and subtracts a bit of the scariness. The result is a video suitable for all ages. Enjoy today’s unique re-telling of Noah’s story.

Talk About It!

Have fun asking question for all your family members!

What do you love about summer? What adventures are you taking this year? What are you responsible for packing? Are any of your pets coming with?

In our story Noah was responsible for loading all the animals onto the arc. What animal would you like to take on the boat? What animal would you not want to take on the boat? What is one item you would like to have on the boat?

At the end of the story God puts the rainbow in the sky to remind us that He he always keeps His promises to love us and protect us. Do you like rainbows? Every time you see one it’s a reminder that God loves you and He will always be with you. Pretty cool huh!

Dig Deeper: God’s promise is symbolized by a rainbow in the clouds. Can you think of ways people make promises? Do people always keep their promises? Does God?

Family Activity Choices

Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.

Rainbow Message You will need a paper towel, Sharpie, and Crayola markers. Fold the paper towel in half. With the Sharpie, write/draw the first part of your design on the outside of the paper towel. Then, open the paper towel (like a card), and make the rest of your design inside with Crayola markers. Close the “card” and place in a shallow dish of water. The colors will bleed through to the top layer almost instantly. See Leah’s Welcome Video for a demonstration.

Pray Together

Do a Rainbow Prayer! Find something for each color of the rainbow and thank God for it.

Bless Each Other

At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.

Make a rainbow arc shape with your hands over each other and say “God will always love you!”
