Welcome Video

Worship Together

Share in some faith practices of worship together!

Shine a Light: Light a candle or find a flashlight. Take turns saying, “Jesus’ light shines in me.”

Sing Together:  Sing or say: Love, Joy, Peace and Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, too. Gentleness and Self-Control, these are gifts God offers to you!

Make an Offering: How can you give an offering today? It could be time, talent, or treasure!

Read the Bible Together

Read this week’s God’s Great Story in the children’s Bible for you child’s age.

Spark Story Bible Fruit of the Spirit or Galatians 5:22-23 & Colossians 1:9-11
Story book: When Grandma Gives You a Lemon Tree by Jamie L.B. Deenihan

Talk About It!

Have fun asking question for all your family members!

Today’s fruit of the spirit is patience. Have you ever been told to wait patiently? Waiting is a part of everyone’s life. We wait for our birthday, we wait for Christmas, we wait in lines, we wait our turn… etc. Waiting can be hard, but we do get to choose how we wait for things. We can fuss and complain and feel bad while we wait, or we can be calm and enjoy other things while we wait. Which way do you think would feel better?

Digging Deeper (great topics for Upper Elementary): Can you think of three things, (besides screen time), that help you be patient and wait for things? I remember playing the “Alphabet game” in the car when we went on long trips, and telling jokes with my brothers when we waited in long lines for amusement park rides. Books and crafts and card games were also fun ways to pass the time. What are some of your favorites?

Family Activity Choices

Pick activities to do together with supplies you have around your house!

Have an egg race! Boil some eggs, put them on a spoon and challenge someone to a race! It may be the fastest, slow walking you will ever do!

Lots of other games are great for practicing patience: Hide and Seek, waiting for your turn in a board game, keeping a steady hand at a game like, “Jenga”, etc.

Pray Together

“Dear God, thank you for offering us the gift of patience. Help us practice everyday so we can feel better and also be a good role model for others. Thank you for being patient with us when we make mistakes. We love you, God! Amen”

Bless Each Other

At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.

Give each other a gentle pinch and says, “You’re super fruity!”
