Summer Family Faith Formation – Aug 21

Join us each week for “Book Club” as we bring to life beloved children’s books and Bible stories!

Pick from watching our Welcome Videos, Worship Together, Reading the Bible, Talk About It, Family Activities, Pray Together and Bless Each Other – or do them all!

Welcome Video

Watch Campfire Worship at Luther Park Family Camp and a reading of this week’s Book Club “mystery”  book!

Worship Together

Share in some faith practices of worship together!

Shine a Light: Turn on a book light or reading lamp and say, “Jesus is the light of the world!”

Giving Thanks: Sing or say: Thank you God, for giving us life. Thank you God, for giving us life. Thank you God, for giving us life. Right where we are! Alleluia, praise the Lord! Alleluia, praise the Lord! Alleluia, praise the Lord! Right where we are! (Add in your own ideas of things you are thankful for!)

Offering: How can you make an offering today?

Read the Bible Together

Read the Bible: Galatians 5:22-23/Fruit of the Spirit and Maybe God Is Like That Too by by Jennifer Grant and Benjamin Schipper

Talk About It!

  1. Enjoy our video from Luther Park Family Camp!

How have you seen God in people sharing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control?

Dig Deeper: Read Matthew 28:16-20. What instructions did Jesus give his disciples before he left? How do we live out those instructions today?

Family Activity Choices

Pick activities to do together!

Activity 1: Campfire Worship Make a campfire or a pretend one and sing a camp song together.

Activity 2: Smores Make some smores and share ways you’d like to share “smore” of God’s love.

Pray Together

“Dear God, thank you for your love and all the ways we can share it with other. Amen.”

Bless Each Other

At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.

Give each other a hug and say to each other “You are a marvelously child of God!”
