Shine a Light: Light a candle or find a flashlight. Take turns saying, “Jesus’ light shines in me.”
Sing Together: This Little Light of Mine: If you are able, light a candle to remind yourselves that Jesus is the light of the world. Jesus is with you, and Jesus is in you. Let your light shine!
Make an Offering: How can you give an offering today?

Have fun asking question for all your family members!
Have you ever felt the presence of the Holy Spirit? Can you think of a time when the Holy Spirit was at work in your life? Sometimes, I have a plan for a lesson, but the Holy Spirit pushes me in a different direction! Often, the presence of the Holy Spirit is not as obvious to us as it was on that first Pentecost day. On Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came to the disciples as wind and fire! What are some things that fall over when it’s windy? What are some things we use fire for?
Digging Deeper (great topics for Upper Elementary): Do you speak any other languages? What language(s) would you like to learn? Why? What are some situations in which being able to speak another language could be important?
Family Activity Choices
Pick activities to do together with supplies you have around your house!
“Tongues of Fire” Wind Painting: You will need paper, a straw and fiery paint colors. Make sure you put some newspaper down on your floor or table to protect it, and have a grown-up help you with the paint. Put some little blobs of paint all over your paper. Then instead of using a paint brush, blow through the straw at the paint to create a rushing wind! You can watch Leah do this in the final two minutes of today’s video.
Pray Together
“Dear God, Help me watch and listen for your Holy Spirit. Let your Holy Spirit guide me like it guided the disciples. Amen.”
Bless Each Other
At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.
Make a flickering flame with your hands over each other’s heads and says, “God’s Spirit is with you!”
