Talk About It!
Have fun asking question for all your family members!
Do you celebrate Mother’s Day? Or Father’s Day or Valentine’s Day? What are all these days about? YES! Love and appreciation for others. Besides sharing the wonderful gifts you made or bought for someone special, try sharing some of God’s gifts too- patience, kindness, and joy!
Digging Deeper (great topics for Upper Elementary): Look up Romans 12:9-18. This section is called “Love in Action”. It begins with, “Love must be honest and true.” It ends with, “If possible, live in peace with everyone.” Read through the verses and find two more actions that you want to practice.
Family Activity Choices
Pick activities to do together with supplies you have around your house!
Love is an action! Get a cardboard box, a golf ball, some paint and a piece of paper. Put the paper, paint and golf ball inside the box. Close it up and start shaking and tipping the box hard enough to hear the ball rolling all around. Open the box and see what patterns your ball has made by rolling through the paint. After your paper dries, cut it into a heart shape or add paper or sticker hearts on top.
Take more action! Offer to help someone with one of their chores. The work gets done faster and you’ll probably have some fun while working together! (Galatians 6:2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.)

“Dear God, help us show our love for you by loving and helping others. Lead us to big and small actions of kindness every day! Amen”
Bless Each Other
At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.
Make a heart with your hands and says, “God loves you and I do too!”
