Worship Together

Share in some faith practices of worship together!

Shine a Light: Make a light (candle, flashlight, light switch) and say, “Jesus is the light of the world!”

Sing Together: “Do My Best” Love, I’ll love, I’ll love you Lord forever. Love, I’ll love, I’ll love you Lord forever. I’ll do my best. I’ll do my best, woah-oh-oh. I’ll do my best for you! Make an Offering: How will you make an offering today?

Read the Bible Together

 Acts 9:1-20
Spark Story Bible, “Saul to Paul”

Talk About It!

Today’s story is about a mean guy named Saul. Saul didn’t believe in Jesus and he tried hard to stop Jesus’ followers from sharing the good news of Easter with others. Instead of stopping Saul with punishment, Jesus changed his heart. He showed him God’s great power by making him blind for three days. He sent a kind person to help Saul and he filled him with the Holy Spirit. Saul spent the rest of his life traveling around and telling people how much Jesus loved them.  What was Saul’s new name? Have you ever asked Jesus to help you change your attitude or your actions?

Digging deeper: There is a well known song that says, “Change my heart, O God. Make me ever new. Change my heart, O God. Help me be like you.” Look up these two bible verses in the Old Testament, 1 Samuel 16:7 and Ezekiel 36:26, to see what else God says about our heart.

Family Activity Choices

Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.

Clean hearts:  Get a folded paper towel. Using a permanent marker, draw a heart on the bottom layer of the paper towel. Fold the top layer over it and trace the heart (still using the permanent marker) on the top layer. Switching to washable markers, color all over the bottom layer to represent our mean thoughts or actions. Lay the folded paper towel in a pan of water. Watch all of the “bad” things appear on the top heart. Then swish the towel around to represent forgiveness and watch it all wash away, leaving clean hearts. For a video demonstration of the activity, use the following link. https://www.christiethomaswriter.com/kids-ideas-blog/disappearing-sin-object-lesson/

Transform your names: Try to make new words by using the letters in your family names. Ask your family members if they have ever thought about having a different name? What would it be? Why?

Pray Together

Dear Jesus, thank you for your love and forgiveness. Change our hearts every day to share more love, like you. Amen.”

Bless Each Other

At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.

It’s still Eastertide, so say “Jesus is risen!” and respond “He is risen indeed!”
