I’ll Fly Away

Worship on Wednesday

Around your table:

This past week had 2 special days of remembrance:
Memorial Day where we remember those that died in service to our country
Ascension Day (40 days after Easter) we remember Jesus went up to heaven
What traditions do you have for these special days?
How does you “remember” significant events in your life?

Today’s God’s Great Story is Paul’s message about our victory over death in

1 Corinthians 15: 51-58

“Where oh death is your sting?”

These verses talk about being raised with Christ, what does that look like in your
imagination?
How are you being “resurrected” on a daily basis?
Is there anything in nature that symbolizes resurrection to you?

Ecclesiastes Prayer Activity

Read Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. With each line there are 2 “times”, raise your left thumb if you
feel like you’re in that time and raise your right thumb if you feel more in that time.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to throw away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
Pray for God to be there to “resurrect” you through each of the “times”.

Blessing

Tap your heart and say “You help me remember God’s love”
