Nativity Has a Heart for Homelessness

Thank you to the Nativity community for an impactful Homelessness and Housing Outreach Month!

Throughout November, we had good conversations at our tables in the Commons. We shared displays with information about our various ministries and community partnerships: Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative, the Dignity Center, LSS Metro Homeless Youth, and Safe House Shelter for Teens. We raised awareness about engagement opportunities. We supported our community in attending a Beacon Luncheon, and in volunteering at Safe House and the Dignity Center to do manual labor, make food, and share donations.

We also celebrate our community’s continued generosity for our annual Christmas Outreach Fundraiser for LSS Metro Homeless Youth. With Nativity’s LSS Circle organizing this opportunity for us, Nativity raised over $6788. The LSS Circle wanted to personally say “Thank You” to each and every one of you who contributed to the Christmas Outreach for youth who are experiencing homelessness. Your generosity is so heart-warming.

The check has been given to Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. Also, five quilts were made by Karen Paulsen and donated directly to Rezek House. (A special thank you goes to Shirley Bradway for her help with the Outreach Project.)

Your continued generosity is so appreciated. These financial contributions will enable LSS to provide gifts to brighten the Christmas Season for these young adults. We are so proud of our Nativity congregation and how supportive and generous you always are.

Thanks for helping the LSS Circle raise funds to support youth who need to know people care and love them.

Merry Christmas!
