IMG_3476IMG_3494Nativity, along with 20+ St Anthony community partners, hosted a wonderful kid focused celebration on Monday, January 16-Martin Luther King holiday. Sixty-one adults signed in, bringing with them one or more young people ages 5-10.
High points were:

  • Watching a video of the book-“My Dream of Martin Luther King” by Faith Ringgold
  • Making quilt squares for a community quilt
  • Serving our community by donating to Little Kitchen Food Pantry 112 pounds of food and $100 in cash. (We learned that $100 donated is worth $900 as food can be purchased at reduced cost from Second Harvest and commodity program)
  • Meeting Dare 2 Be Real club members from Saint Anthony Village High School. Look for information on a March community event being planned-date TBA.
  • More followup from day on January 31, 7-8:30 at Nativity with a panel on Racial Bias & Racial Privilege.
