Fall Family Faith Formation – Oct 17 & 18

Join us each week as a family to have fun together with God’s great stories!

Pick from watching our Welcome Videos, Worship Together, Reading the Bible, Talk About It, Family Activities, Pray Together and Bless Each Other – or do them all!

Welcome Videos

Start by picking a Welcome Video from Miss Leah for Grades 1-4
or Miss Renee for littles-Kindergartners or watch both!

Worship Together

Share in some faith practices of worship together!

Shine a Light: Light a candle or find a flashlight. Take turns saying, “Jesus is the light of the world!”

Sing Together: This Little Light of Mine

Make an Offering: How will you make an offering today? An offering is not always money. You can also offer your time, support, or creativity to improve the lives of others.

Littles Sing Together: Watch the Welcome Video to learn a new verse to our God’s Love song!

Read the Bible Together

Read this week’s God’s Great Story in the children’s Bible for you child’s age.

Frolic Bible (received at Baptism) “Hannah & Samuel”
Spark Story Bible (received at 3 years old) “Hannah Prays for a Child” on page 118
Bible (Adventure Bibles received in 3rd Grade) 1 Samuel 1:9-18

3 Year Olds and 3rd Graders will receive their New Bibles as part of our Milestone Ministry this fall.

Talk About It!

Have fun asking question for all your family members!

Do you remember being a baby? Did you cry a lot? Share as a family some of your favorite memories of that special time.

Samuel means “asked of God.” Hannah asked God for a baby boy. What have you asked of God? Does God always answer right away? Do you hear God? God’s plans for us aren’t always what we expect. Sometimes God says “yes,” sometimes God says “no,” and sometimes God says, “wait.”

Dig Deeper: Samuel means “asked of God.” Hannah means “grace.” What does your name mean? Ask your parent(s) why they chose your name. Did they choose it for its meaning, did they name you after someone, or did they like the sound of it? What other names did they consider?

Family Activity Choices

Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.

Activity 1 – Name Tags: Using the lanyard in your October Faith Formation kit, design a name tag for yourself. If you don’t have a FF kit, you can make place cards for yourself and your family members out of paper or cardstock. What colors do you like best? Can you draw something that represents you?

Activity 2 – Baby Memories: Look at baby pictures or pull out a memory box or your faith chest.

Pray Together

“Dear God, Thank you for my name. Thank you for my family. You have a plan for me. Help me fulfill your plan for me. Help me love you, my family, myself and others. Amen.”

Bless Each Other

At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.

Try to rock each other like a baby and say “I’m so glad God blessed me with you!”
