Earthquake Relief for People in Turkey and Syria

Feb

On February 6, two very powerful earthquakes, one a magnitude 7.8 and the second a magnitude 7.5, hit Turkey and significantly impacted neighboring Syria. The two quakes devastated both countries, killing more than 22,000 people. Thousands more have been injured.

Lutheran Disaster Response is working with ACT Alliance—a global, faith-based coalition of more than 140 faith-based member organizations—and other partners in responding to the earthquakes. The full 100% of gifts to Lutheran Disaster Response will be used to assist those affected by the earthquakes and other disasters in the region. If you wish to make a gift to aid the humanitarian crisis following the earthquakes there, you can contribute through Nativity by designating your gift to “Lutheran Disaster Response, Middle East” in the memo line of your check—or by going to ELCA.org/disaster.
