“Little light, little light number one
Family gives us HOPE as we begin our Advent fun”

Sing Together: Advent Song
Advent is a time to wait, not quite time to celebrate
Light the candles one by one, till the Advent time is done
Help us in our work and play, to prepare for Christmas Day

Make an Offering: How can you be an offering this week?

Read the Bible Together

Jeremiah 29:11

Talk About It!

Do you know what season it is? It’s Advent! Advent means “arrival” and the 4 weeks leading up to Christmas we prepare for someone’s arrival. Can you guess who? No not the one dressed in red, but a little baby laying in a manger. That’s right, it’s Jesus!

Did you know Jesus has lots of nicknames? Do you have a nickname? Well one of His is EMMANUEL. It means “God with us.” This Advent season we will be celebrating how God is with us through hope, peace, joy and love. This week’s theme is HOPE. Our Bible verse from Jeremiah reminds us that God has been with us for generation after generation and has always had a plan for us. He promised that to your parents the day you were born. And when you share love as a family, you are living God’s plan, and boy oh boy does that give me hope. Share ways your family gives you hope.

Family Activity Choices

Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.

Activity CRAFT: FAMILY WREATH
Cut out the Family Wreath template HERE. Then, using the hand template provided or tracing your own hands, cut out hand shapes and glue them around the Family Wreath. Write the names of your family members and others who are close to you on the palms and fingers. What are your hopes for these beloved people? Say a short prayer for them.

Pray Together

“Dear God, thank you for my family and how our love gives me hope. Amen.”

Bless Each Other

At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.

Look at a family picture together and and say “Our family give me hope!”
