November was Homelessness & Housing Outreach Month at Nativity, and we want to thank you for showing up and loving neighbor!
In the month of November, we:
- Fed 12 teens experiencing homelessness at the Safe House Shelter for Thanksgiving.
- Raised over $9020 for Metro Homeless Youth at our Annual Christmas Fundraiser.
- Packed over 300 snack packs for families at Solid Ground Shelter and Supportive Services.
- Created 55 menstrual hygiene kits for teens experiencing homelessness.
Thank you again to the Nativity community! And a special thank you, also, to our volunteer leaders within our Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative Leadership Team, our Homelessness Outreach Team, and our LSS Circle.

In response to this year’s LSS Christmas Youth Outreach Fundraiser, the Nativity community donated $9,020!
A thank you doesn’t feel like enough! This generous donation goes to support metro youth experiencing homelessness who are served by Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. This gift will enable LSS to brighten Christmas for the youth with a small party and gifts selected just for them, including gift cards that will be used throughout the coming weeks and months. Your generosity is so appreciated and will make a tangible difference for young people who are facing many challenges.
As we journey through this Advent season, a time of hope, preparation, and anticipation, we are reminded of our spiritual call to care for our neighbors. Thank you, Nativity, for your continued generosity in supporting those experiencing homelessness!
A Personal Note from Marcy Sorensen…
With help from LSS Circle members, I have been the coordinator for this fundraiser since the pandemic. I will be stepping down from this role and someone new will be taking over. It’s been my privilege to head up this fundraiser so homeless youth can know that people care for them and want to help. I feel so grateful for this experience, and so many Nativity members have made my role easy! Thank you so much for your generosity.
