November is Homelessness & Housing Outreach Month

16
Nov

In November, we celebrate the homelessness and housing initiatives Nativity members collaborate on all year long. We have three volunteer teams who support our community in this work.

Homelessness Team, led by Gail Bergsven (ggantz1@aol.com)
Beacon Leadership Team, led by Stephen Anderson (stevea828@comcast.net)
LSS Circle, led by Sue Sorenson (suesorenson@yahoo.com).

Stop by the table in the Commons each weekend to learn more about these critical ministries as well as ways to get involved. Our worship throughout November will include a focus on homelessness.

Help Youth Experiencing Homelessness
November 1-16

Each year, LSS Circle coordinates an annual fundraiser for youth experiencing homelessness who are served by Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. This drive provides them with cheer at the Christmas season and needed resources for the coldest months of the year.

As we have in recent years, we are asking for financial gifts only for this outreach fundraiser. Initially chosen as a safety measure during the pandemic, this approach has been very helpful to Lutheran Social Service and allowed them to direct the funds where they are most needed.

The Nativity community’s support for the Christmas Outreach has been so appreciated each year. Your continuing generosity, as well as love and prayers, will help brighten this holiday season for young people who are facing many challenges.

Please make your donations by Sunday, November 16. These donations can be made through Venmo (@NativityLutheran), mailed to the church (3312 Silver Lake Road NE, 55418), or included in the plate offering. Checks should be written to Nativity Lutheran Church with “LSS Christmas Youth Outreach” in the memo line.
