Congregational Vote to Call Results

We are pleased to share with you the results of the congregational vote this weekend.

On the resolution below, the Nativity community voted 187 yes and 3 no, a 98.4% majority. A call has been extended to Pastor Angela LaMoore. Pastor Angela has accepted.

The resolution follows:

Resolution to Call Pastor Angela LaMoore to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament at Nativity as Co-Pastor, March 8-9, 2025

Whereas a transition team conducted congregational listening sessions to assist in the completion of Nativity’s Mission Site Profile, a document to help determine what is needed for future mission, and

Whereas the Mission Site Profile was completed in accordance with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Minneapolis Synod guidelines, and submitted for review to the Minneapolis Area Synod, and

Whereas Nativity Lutheran Church council formed a Call Committee in accordance with Nativity Lutheran Church Constitution, to seek, identify, and recommend a candidate to serve as pastor with Pastor Glenn Seefeldt, and

Whereas, the Nativity Call Committee, guided by Minneapolis Area Synod, conducted extensive interviews with Pastor Angela LaMoore, and

Whereas, both Pastor Seefeldt and Pastor LaMoore have expressed the desire, confidence, and mutual trust needed to pursue an Elijah-Elisha model of pastoral leadership, and

Whereas, the Nativity Lutheran Church Council has reviewed Nativity’s Call Committee recommendation of Pastor Angela LaMoore and has unanimously voted to recommend Pastor LaMoore to the congregation for consideration of call to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament at Nativity as Co-Pastor,

Be it therefore resolved that the congregation of Nativity Lutheran Church call Pastor Angela LaMoore as Co-Pastor of Nativity.

Pastor Angela will start March 15, 2025. Dates for her installation will be announced in future communications. We welcome Pastor Angela as Co-Pastor and are grateful for this momentous step for our community.
