Dear Nativity Community,
It is with heavy hearts that we write to inform you of the death of a beloved Nativity staff member. Freda Myhrwold was travelling in Ireland on Saturday when she experienced shortness of breath and collapsed. She died shortly thereafter. This loss is sudden and shocking, and our prayers are with Freda’s close friends and family members during this time of deep grief.
Simply put, we are heartbroken. Freda has been an integral part of Nativity for over 40 years and has touched the lives of so many. She radiated the light of Christ and blessed us all with her immense talent week after week. Her warm smile, welcoming presence, and compassionate leadership have been part of the lifeblood of our community through many changing seasons. To say she will be missed is an extraordinary understatement.
We know many in this community join us in grieving Freda’s passing. Our prayer room will be staffed following all worship hours next weekend, March 21 & 22, for anyone who could use some extra support. And we, along with the rest of our pastoral care staff, are always just a phone call or text away—please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Details around a celebration of life are forthcoming. Nativity staff have also created an online memorial page in Freda’s honor for the community to share favorite memories, pictures, and stories. You can find that website here.
We give thanks for Freda, for the life that she lived and the love that she shared. And we take solace in the fact that she is now safe in the arms of her Savior, whom she loved and served so well.
As Freda so often did, we close this message with a verse: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” (Matthew 5:4). Peace be with you all.
Love in Christ,
Pastor Angela and Pastor Glenn
