October 4, 4:00-5:00 pm | Central Park Pavilion

In celebrating the Feast of St. Francis, patron saint of animals, we take time to bless the beloved animal companions in our lives. Join us in Central Park with your furry (or feathered, scaled, or otherwise clad) animal friends for a special blessing. Stuffies and pet photos are also welcome for the blessing. Enjoy the informal drop-in celebration with treats for all creatures big and small!

On Sunday morning, Oct. 5, we’ll devote Time with Children to the animal blessing theme. Children are invited to bring their stuffies and/or pictures of their pets. Parents can also come forward with their children and bring their phones with pictures of their pets for a thanksgiving and blessing.

Special Free-Will Offering

A free-will offering at Saturday’s event will go to Linus’ Pet Haven, a Program of Alexandra House in Blaine, Minnesota. Linus’ Pet Haven is a dedicated refuge created to support victims/survivors of violence who face the impossible choice between personal safety and leaving their beloved pets behind. Pets receive essential care and shelter alongside their families, allowing survivors to focus on rebuilding their lives without the worry of separation. Their services include routine veterinary care, with all supplies and food provided for pet families. Gifts can be made to Nativity with “Linus Pet Haven” in the subject line.
