September 12-13: All Worship Hours
Each year “God’s Work. Our Hands” Weekend gives us the opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America — one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. Join us for a weekend of prayer for and within the greater community as well as service projects.
Neighborhood Prayer Walk
This GWOH Weekend, we’ll seek to more deeply witness our neighbors. The Nativity community will be invited to participate in a short, guided prayer walk around our church. As we make our way through the neighborhood, we’ll have the opportunity to observe the lives of our neighbors and to engage with the life of the greater community on a spiritual level.
Help with the Prayer Walk
We are looking for assistants for the Neighborhood Prayer Walk. If you’d like to help with that part of our GWOH worship, please indicate your interest in the News to Note tear-off or contact Joanne Griffin at Joanne@NativityChurch.org.
Extended Prayer Time
Anyone who cannot or does not wish to join the walk is welcome to remain in the sanctuary for a time of extended prayer for our neighbors, complete with a visual tour of the neighborhood.
On-Site Service Projects
At the conclusion of the walk & prayer time, we invite you to return to Nativity and lend a helping hand as we turn prayer into action! We will offer a number of on-site/nearby service opportunities, including making tie blankets for children in need (through Project Linus), cleaning up community garden spaces around the neighborhood and at Nativity, and some light housekeeping tasks to help NCFC prepare for the new school year.
