Sing Together:  Jesus Loves Me (camp version and/or traditional)

Read the Bible Together

Read this week’s God’s Great Story in the children’s Bible for you child’s age.

Bible – Romans 8:28-29

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Talk About It!

Have fun asking question for all your family members!

Do you ever make a mistake? What do you call it in your house? We call it a whoopsiedoodle! Is there anything that could ever make you stop loving someone in your family? I bet you’d all say NOPE! That’s how God loves us too! There’s nothing that can separate us from His love.

That’s what we celebrate on Ash Wednesday, that God will always forgive us, no matter way.

Family Activity

Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.

Activity 1: Make the Sign of the Cross with Ashes: use the Ashes To Go from your February At-Home Kit. If you didn’t receive a kit, you can stop by the church 10am-5pm on Wed 2/17 to pick some up. You can also use a washable marker. Mix ashes with oil (NOT water) with a q-tip. Use your finger or q-tip to draw a cross on each other’s forehead of hand. As you do say “God loves you, God forgives you.”

Activity 2: God’s Love Reminder: Use your remaining ashes to make a cross on a paper heart to remind your throughout Lent of God’s forgiving love.

Pray Together

“Dear God, that You for loving me so much that there’s nothing that can ever, ever, that would ever make You stop loving me. I love You, God! Amen”

Bless Each Other

At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.

Your ashes were your blessing! Take a selfie together to remember God loves & God forgives you!
