Nativity’s Mental Health and Wellness Outreach Ministries respond to the reality that people in our community are facing life challenges and that they can benefit by our appropriate and timely help and care. These ministries promote awareness of local resources and offer both educational programming and support opportunities.

The Dragonfly Project Packing Event
May 6-7, after all worship hours

Join The Dragonfly Project team after worship to learn more about their ministry to those grieving the loss of a loved one. There will be a table outside the Sanctuary with information as well as a packet assembly table in the Commons where you can help pack cards and keychains to spread hope and healing. All are welcome!

Mental Health Connect “Stories of Hope” Fundraiser
Thursday, May 11, 8:00-9:00 am | Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church

Join us for Mental Health Connect’s 5th Annual “Stories of Hope” Fundraiser Breakfast. MHC collaborates with 37 faith communities that have a reach of 80,000 people and provides education to reduce stigma. Our Navigation line is free and confidential, providing support and direction, utilizing over 100 trusted local resources. Support from “Stories of Hope” will provide critical resources to support the mental health of our community. Register through the QR code link or NativityChurch.org/News.

Mother’s Day Panel: “Faith, Parenting, and Mental Health”

Join us for Adult Faith Formation as three mothers from Nativity share their experiences making room for faith and mental wellness in family life. A discussion time will follow their stories.

“Finding Hope in Times of Loss & Pain” NMHC Connect & Communicate
Thursday, May 18, 6:30-7:30 pm | Room 218 and Zoom

Optage Hospice Chaplain Jenny Schroedel facilitates grief groups across Presbyterian Homes & Services Community and in the larger community. She is the author of Naming the Child: Hope-filled Reflections on Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Infant Death. Jenny will speak about grief and children for part of her presentation and will provide information about Bright Day Grief Center which specializes in supporting children.

Mental Health Worship & Prayer Shawl Ministry
May 20-21, All Worship Hours

Deacon Kyle will bring the message with a mental health themed sermon. We invite the community to visit the Prayer Shawl group at a table in the Commons to learn about their caring and supportive ministry at Nativity.

Growing Green Yoga Event
Wednesday, May 24, 6:00 pm | Fellowship Hall

Nativity Public Ministry and the Environmental & Sustainability Team have partnered with Growing Green Hearts to offer this unique Growing Green Yoga experience. The free event will combine yoga practice with environmental education, hands-on activities, treats from The Sioux Chef, and storytelling for an immersive and connecting experience!
