This Pride Month we recognize the grave and threatening circumstances LGBTQIA+ people face through rising violence, legislative targeting, and hate speech, along with increasing exclusion and erasure. We stand in solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ siblings in Christ, serving and advocating for their full welcome, inclusion, and celebration as we continue the holy work of listening, learning, and growing together.
Nativity celebrates Pride Month and affirms our commitment as a Reconciling in Christ congregation to welcoming and affirming people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. This month we’ll share worship, music, and preaching that lift up the ongoing work of welcome, inclusion, celebration, and advocacy for our LGBTQIA+ siblings in Christ.
Throughout this month, look for the Pride table in the Commons, where you’ll find RIC resources, advocacy projects, children’s activity pages, and more. Also, be sure to check out LGBTQIA+ books from Nativity’s Advocacy Library. There’s something for all ages!
Rainbow Connections Group
Thursday, June 12, 6:30-7:30 pm | Room 218
Rainbow Connections is a group at Nativity for those supporting LGBTQ+ family members or friends. We’re a peer group sharing resources, faith, stories, and emotions within a confidential and non-judgmental space so that we can, in turn, better support our LGBTQ+ loved ones. The group meets the second Thursday of each month and would love to welcome anyone supporting LGBTQ+ loved ones. Questions? Contact Gilliane Monnier at gfmonnier@gmail.com.
Letter Writing to Support Our Transgender Siblings
