Legacy Giving Formatted

LOVE COURAGEOUSLY, LIVE GENEROUSLY… now and into the future.

Nativity is part of your life and your legacy. As a community, we’ve been with you for the milestones, transitions, and celebrations of life. For over 65 years, Nativity Lutheran Church has shared the love of Jesus Christ with you and so many others through worship, faith formation, and service. Together, we do the joyous work of loving courageously and living generously.

Careful estate planning is Christian stewardship in action. Estate planning is good stewardship of all that God has provided and is a blessing to you and others. When we plan for the future, we pass on a legacy of faith to future generations, and we ensure that the ministries of Nativity Lutheran Church will be there for years to come.

Through Nativity’s Legacy Giving program, you can intentionally express your values. Nativity uses all gifts according to each donor’s documented wishes and intentions.

Your Plan, Your Choice

People who die without a will or a plan leave their estate to be divided according to the laws in the state where they live—laws that don’t necessarily align with their values or priorities. But with your estate and charitable plans in place, you…

• extend your love, care, generosity and gratitude to family, loved ones and the ministries you care about
• may protect some of your assets and even increase your income while supporting this ministry
• may enjoy beneficial tax deductions because of the charitable gifts made through your will or estate plans, and
• make it possible for Nativity to be there for future generations.

Since estate laws differ from state to state, and change from time to time, it is very important that you seek competent legal counsel before finalizing your estate plan.

Next Steps

1. Establish or update your will or trust.

2. Seek the advice of qualified counsel and consider including Nativity in your plan.

3. Review and update your asset beneficiaries. Consider including Nativity among your beneficiaries.

4. Remembering Nativity in your will or on a beneficiary form is simple. The official legal language is: “I give, devise and bequeath to Nativity Lutheran Church, located at 3312 Silver Lake Rd., St. Anthony, MN 55418 (EIN #41-0903528), _________% of my estate (or a specific amount) for its unrestricted use and purpose.”

5. Let us know if you have already remembered Nativity in your plans. We would like to thank you and ensure that your gift will be used according to your intent. To fill out a Legacy Gift Intention form, click HERE.

Creative Ways to Give

Accessibility

Accessible Seating
As many of our seniors and others have accessibility challenges, our sanctuary seating needs to be reconfigured to create space for more wheelchairs and walkers.
Elevator Updates
By state law, the controller on our elevator must be replaced in the next few years.
Worship Technology Upgrades
Lighting and sound improvements in the sanctuary would make it easier for some to more fully participate in worship.

Hospitality

Flexible Family Spaces
To be more welcoming of families with young children, a reconfiguration of the sanctuary can also provide more flexible space for active children.
Heating and Cooling
Major HVAC systems need a full replacement. After 40 years of maintenance, repairs have become increasingly costly.
Upstairs Kitchen Improvements
A remodel of our heavily used upstairs kitchen could enhance our fellowship experience and improve the use of the space for volunteers providing hospitality.

Sustainability

Roof Replacement
A roof replacement is essential for our building’s integrity. Having buckets in the Commons to catch leaks doesn’t convey a warm welcome. The roof replacement is a prudent time to enhance our building’s environmental sustainability by adding solar panels to reduce Nativity’s energy costs.
