We pray that you will experience God’s love in this community, have a faith that is deeply rooted and feels confident in living out the life that God created you for.
What is SALT?
It is Nativity’s Student Action Leadership Team! In SALT 10th-12th graders gather to learn about how we fit into the world, and how our unique talents and gifts are used. We learn about (and use) leadership skills with a focus on advocacy, service projects, peer support, and building community. This is done in a welcoming, caring and fun environment.
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise.”
We focus on loving God, loving Neighbor and, loving Self.
Who participates in SALT?
SALT is for all 10-12th-grade students, 9th-grade students will receive an invitation to participate in some of the special events so they can get to know the kids that are already there.
When do you meet?
It varies, but we’ll keep you up to date 🙂
On the 1st Sunday of each month, we’ll have fellowship events that will change in location and time, these may include:
- Urban scavenger hunt
- Visiting another youth group
- Cold Stone Creamery
- Service project
- Snow tubing
- Wherever the wind blows us!
On the 2nd and 4th Sundays in room 215 from 12-1PM; starting on September 22nd. We keep it short, but with a powerful impact.
On the 3rd Sunday of each month, we gather with the 7-9th-grades in our Peer Ministry days. These days are lunch and learn, we’ll have a bite to eat and host a learning and growing event.
The kids are in high school, are parents involved?
YES!!! Parents and guardians are the most important people in our students lives. You are needed for the full faith development of your child, your support is needed for the community that we live in. You are the most valuable person who will influence your child, not only in matters of faith but of all parts of their life’s. You belong to this community and are welcome to join us in FULL partnership. We can’t do this without you.
