DESCRIPTION:September 9\, 1:00-2:00 pm\nNativity Lutheran Church \nNirmala Rajasekar is one of the premier players of the Saraswathi veena\, a seven-stringed lute from South India\, in the world today. A dynamic and vibrant musician\, she has performed in many of the leading stages in India and around the world. \nListen to Nirmala sing and perform classical Carnatic music. Nirmala explains India’s musical history and concepts such as raga (melody) and tala (rhythm). The performance is accompanied by a percussionist on the tabla drum from North India. DESCRIPTION:Nativity is offering an opportunity to participate in the Sacred Tour of the Twin Cities on September 28 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The tour will be led by Pastor Jim Bear Jacobs and Nativity’s own Dr. Kelly Sherman-Conway. The Sacred Sites Tour is part of the Minnesota Stories’ effort to create greater awareness and understanding of the Dakota people\, the original people of this area who too often are invisible in their homeland. \nThe tour visits three sacred sites and\, through storytelling and reflection\, shares information on Dakota history and culture as well as the oppression\, genocide and exile faced by the Dakota people. Times for silence and meditation are included. Please Note: Children high school age or older are appropriate for this tour. \nA suggested donation will be determined under the guidance of our tour leaders. SUMMARY:Sacred Sites Tour
DESCRIPTION:Nativity is offering an opportunity to participate in the Sacred Tour of the Twin Cities on September 28 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The tour will be led by Pastor Jim Bear Jacobs and Nativity’s own Dr. Kelly Sherman-Conway. The Sacred Sites Tour is part of the Minnesota Stories’ effort to create greater awareness and understanding of the Dakota people\, the original people of this area who too often are invisible in their homeland. \nThe tour visits three sacred sites and\, through storytelling and reflection\, shares information on Dakota history and culture as well as the oppression\, genocide and exile faced by the Dakota people. Times for silence and meditation are included. Please Note: Children high school age or older are appropriate for this tour. \nA suggested donation will be determined under the guidance of our tour leaders. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, October 28\, 3:00-5:00 pm \nWe’re looking forward to Nativity’s popular “Trunk or Treat” event! Would you like to help out by hosting a trunk? Email Leah Reddy at Leah@NativityChurch.org for more details. \nOn October 28\, join us in our parking lot (off Belden Drive) for an afternoon of fun and treats. And be sure to invite friends\, family\, and neighbors as well! \nYoung and Old\, come dressed up in your costumes\, and bring a household paper good (tissue\, toilet paper\, paper towel) for Nourish 282. It’s a great event to meet new people\, celebrate together\, and give back to the community. \nWe’re also looking for folks to help out with the event by “hosting” a trunk. If you’d like to host\, we’ll be gathering between 2:15-2:30 for setup. Bring candy for 300 (We did say this was a popular event!) along with some non-food treats if you can. If you’d like to host or trunk or help with treat donations\, contact Leah Reddy at Leah@NativityChurch.org. \nConfirmation students can earn 2 Service Experiences by hosting a trunk.
