A dynamic and vibrant musician\, she has performed in many of the leading stages in India and around the world. \nListen to Nirmala sing and perform classical Carnatic music. Nirmala explains India’s musical history and concepts such as raga (melody) and tala (rhythm). The performance is accompanied by a percussionist on the tabla drum from North India. There’s a place for everyone as we enjoy a local tradition and a beautiful summer evening together. Can’t join us that night? Support Nativity by donating bite-sized candy that participants will distribute along the parade route. (Donations will be collected at the Nativity Welcome Desk.) \nOn Aug. 4\, meet us at Nativity at 5:30 pm for hot dogs (beef or veggie) and fellowship with staff and families from NCFC (Nativity Child & Family Center). We’ll have t-shirts representing Nativity pride. Since supplies are limited\, however\, we encourage all who have t-shirts from last year to wear those. The parade begins at 7:00 pm at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Please allow some time to park and walk to the staging area\, where we’ll gather for our place in the parade lineup. DESCRIPTION:In the spirit of “Love God\, Love Neighbor\,” Nativity continues to strengthen our growing relationship with Redeemer Lutheran in North Minneapolis\, and this summer offers some fun opportunities to gather and connect! \nRedeemer is hosting a series of summer cookouts in their own backyard\, and Nativity will be collaborating to provide meal support and other volunteer help. Everyone at Nativity is invited each Wednesday 6:00-8:00 pm to come enjoy great food and good fellowship\, AND we’re looking for volunteers who can help make two events a welcoming success! \nJune 28th Nativity-Hosted Meal\nOn June 28th Nativity will host the Wednesday meal at Redeemer! We’ll provide pulled pork sandwiches\, and we’re looking for volunteers who can bring sides to share like salads\, fruit\, veggies and drinks. We’re planning for 50 people that night.
