SUMMARY:High School Walk-About
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, April 12th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM our High School students will meet in the top parking lot. We’ll have our gathering outside so dress for the weather\, wear your mask. \nThe discussion will be on Luke 24:13-35\, the road to Emmaus. Who do you think of as influential people? Who do you listen to? What qualities do those people share?  In the book of Luke\, we read about two men\, who do not recognize Jesus is with them. They tell the story of all that happened in Jerusalem\, that the women saw the empty tomb\, and told the others that Jesus was alive. No one believed them. \nAs we discuss Jesus’ presence with us and who we listen to\, we’ll walk the road(s) of St Anthony. Listening to some of our own women. If you would like to join our walk or have questions please email Heather.

SUMMARY:Finding Stillness
DESCRIPTION:For many months\, people have been overwhelmed with sadness\, frustration\, anger\, confusion–and sometimes insight and hope. Can this time of communal angst be a time of drawing closer to God? And\, can that closeness give us peace and hope? The answer is yes. There are many prayer practices that can bring us to a point of stillness with God. These prayer practices will be taught at a new Zoom small group series that will meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. Each session will be facilitated by a Nativity spiritual coach. That person will introduce a prayer style\, invite people to practice that style\, and offer time for discussion and/or questions. Pat Hendricks will offer an introduction to the value of prayer practices as well as to this Zoom series on Tuesday\, October 20th at 7:00 pm. All ages are welcome to attend. Email Pat if you have questions or would like a Zoom invitation: bppat127@gmail.com    763-221-8149. \n

SUMMARY:God's work. Our hands.
DESCRIPTION:“As… one church\, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor\, service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ…. flows freely from a living\, daring confidence in God’s grace”. \nThe Weekend’s Details:\nThis year\, join us in celebrating some of the depth\, breadth\, and diversity of our community’s acts of service\, reflecting the very nature of our hearts. \nCome walk with us! \n\nThe weekend’s events are chronological so that each activity is open to all\, promoting fellowship and community.\nFor safety\, space in some activities may be limited.\nSocial Distancing and Best Practices for Health & Safety will be used for all in-person activities. Possible through a partnership with LSS.\n\nDid you know? Twin Cities Homelessness… \n\nSince early June\, over 55 Public Parks in Minneapolis alone have tent cities.\nAn estimated 700\,000 youth without a parent or guardian experience homelessness each year.\nHomelessness is growing more because of exuberant housing costs. SUMMARY:Blessed Are The Peacemakers
DESCRIPTION:Online/ZOOM Talk and Community Workshop led by Pardeep Singh Kaleka and Arno Michaelis\, founders of Serve 2 Unite and authors of THE GIFT OF OUR WOUNDS.\nWe live in a time of increasing division and expression of hate. How do we respond? How do we ‘love our enemies’? This free community event is sponsored by the Addison family in memory of Rev.\, Dr.\, Duane Addison and features founders of Serve 2 Unite\, Pardeep Singh Kaleka and Arno Michaelis. On August 5th\, 2012\, Singh Kaleka’s father\, Satwant\, and five others were murdered by white supremacists when their place of worship was attacked. The shooter was a member of the neo-Nazi skinhead gang that Michaelis had helped found in 1989. Single parenthood\, love for his daughter\, and the forgiveness shown by people he once hated all helped Michaelis change his life. These brought him love for diversity and gratitude for all life after he left hate groups in 1994. Since his father’s passing\, Singh Kaleka has become a licensed trauma therapist and partnered with Michaelis via Serve 2 Unite\, an organization whose mission is to bring a peaceful society where all are valued and included. \n \nFriday July 24th\n7pm–8:30pm – Moving Past Hate and Toward Forgiveness: A Conversation and Q & A\nAuthors of “The Gift of Our Wounds” Pardeep Singh Kaleka and Arno Michaelis\nwill share their story of forgiveness. \nSaturday July 25th\n10am–12pm – Moving Past Hate and Toward Forgiveness – Workshop for\nYouth and Adults (Parents\, teachers\, those connected with youth). \nFor more information\, contact: Kelly Sherman-Conroy \nLet us know you are coming.
