SUMMARY:High School Walk-About
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, April 12th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM our High School students will meet in the top parking lot. We’ll have our gathering outside so dress for the weather\, wear your mask. \nThe discussion will be on Luke 24:13-35\, the road to Emmaus. Who do you think of as influential people? Who do you listen to? What qualities do those people share?  In the book of Luke\, we read about two men\, who do not recognize Jesus is with them. They tell the story of all that happened in Jerusalem\, that the women saw the empty tomb\, and told the others that Jesus was alive. No one believed them. \nAs we discuss Jesus’ presence with us and who we listen to\, we’ll walk the road(s) of St Anthony. Listening to some of our own women. If you would like to join our walk or have questions please email Heather.

SUMMARY:Finding Stillness
DESCRIPTION:For many months\, people have been overwhelmed with sadness\, frustration\, anger\, confusion–and sometimes insight and hope. Can this time of communal angst be a time of drawing closer to God? And\, can that closeness give us peace and hope? The answer is yes. There are many prayer practices that can bring us to a point of stillness with God. These prayer practices will be taught at a new Zoom small group series that will meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. Each session will be facilitated by a Nativity spiritual coach. That person will introduce a prayer style\, invite people to practice that style\, and offer time for discussion and/or questions. Pat Hendricks will offer an introduction to the value of prayer practices as well as to this Zoom series on Tuesday\, October 20th at 7:00 pm. All ages are welcome to attend. Email Pat if you have questions or would like a Zoom invitation: bppat127@gmail.com    763-221-8149. \n

SUMMARY:SUNDAY AT 9 - BOOK CONVERSATION
DESCRIPTION:BEGINNING ON SUNDAY\, SEPTEMBER 13\nConversations will focus on the book\, DEAR CHURCH\, by Lenny Duncan.  The author is a Black ELCA preacher who draws a direct line between the church’s lack of diversity and the church’s lack of vitality. SUMMARY:God's work. Our hands.
DESCRIPTION:“As… one church\, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor\, service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ…. flows freely from a living\, daring confidence in God’s grace”. \nThe Weekend’s Details:\nThis year\, join us in celebrating some of the depth\, breadth\, and diversity of our community’s acts of service\, reflecting the very nature of our hearts. \nCome walk with us! \n\nThe weekend’s events are chronological so that each activity is open to all\, promoting fellowship and community.\nFor safety\, space in some activities may be limited.\nSocial Distancing and Best Practices for Health & Safety will be used for all in-person activities. Masks are required. Sanitation Stations will be available.\nAll proceeds from this weekend’s activities will support a goal of reaching $1\,000 for 10 Tablets for youth experiencing homelessness\, assisting them with their upcoming school year. Possible through a partnership with LSS.\n\nDid you know? Twin Cities Homelessness… \n\nSince early June\, over 55 Public Parks in Minneapolis alone have tent cities.\nAn estimated 700\,000 youth without a parent or guardian experience homelessness each year.\nHomelessness is growing more because of exuberant housing costs. It would take 127 hours per week at the minimum wage to rent a modest 2-bedroom home.\n30% of homeless people in the Twin Cities have jobs but cannot afford housing.\nNativity has actively participated in helping organizations that aid people experiencing homelessness in our area. Ask us how you can continue to help.\n\nEvent Description:\nSaturday  Sunday September 13\,\nNativity Youth Car Wash\n9 am – 12 pm\,\nJoin us for a ‘Spirited’ Nativity Youth Car Wash in the North parking lot.\n$10 Suggested Donation\n\nVirtual Dragonfly Packing Event\n3:30 pm – 5 pm\,\nJoin us for an open-house style\, come as you are\, virtual Dragonfly packing event.\nSpace is limited; please register in advance:\n\nSIGN UP!\nPlease enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form.Name *FirstLastEmail *Submit \n\n\nSunday September 13\,\nNew Small Groups to discuss Dear Church\nLet’s learn to listen actively\, ponder empathetically\, and grow as individuals and as a community\, by having powerful conversations\, with love in our hearts. \n\nBe a part of a growing ministry at Nativity: self-contained\, small groups that are discussing a book called Dear Church\, by Lenny Duncan. Duncan is a black ELCA pastor who writes a love-letter to the whitest denomination in the United States and draws a direct line between the church’s lack of diversity and its lack of vitality. The problems we face are theological\, not sociological\, and he offers a bold new vision for our ELCA denomination. \nYou can find a copy through the Augsburg Fortress or on Amazon. \nGroups will meet for one hour\, once a week for six to seven weeks. No need to read the entire book in advance of the 1st meeting. \nThe Sunday morning small group begins on September 13th. All other small groups will begin once they reach a minimum of 5 people. \nIndicate your interest in a meeting time below and we will connect with you on your group’s start date.  \nThere are multiple small group meeting times available.
