This is a collaborative, community-organized celebration. People young and young at heart (children, youth & adults/parents) are welcome to the free 4th Annual MLK Celebration to gather in unity, express ourselves through art, conversation, and music, and help build a better community for all.
What happens around us impacts all of us. There is a lot to say that deserves to be heard, including the voices of children and youth. Dr. King understood this.
This event will teach about Dr. King and the civil rights movement through music and spoken word. It’s an opportunity to ask questions, have an open dialog, create art projects, and see local artists perform. Parents and adults can help by being a part of this conversation together. This event gives children and youth the opportunity to be heard through creative expression. Organizers are expecting over 300 children, youth, and families to participate and are offering activities for children of all ages.
