Read the Bible Together
Read this week’s God’s Great Story in the children’s Bible for you child’s age.
Bible – Romans 8:28-29
“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Talk About It!
Have fun asking question for all your family members!
Do you ever make a mistake? What do you call it in your house? We call it a whoopsiedoodle! Is there anything that could ever make you stop loving someone in your family? I bet you’d all say NOPE! That’s how God loves us too! There’s nothing that can separate us from His love.
That’s what we celebrate on Ash Wednesday, that God will always forgive us, no matter way.

Pick activities to do together!
Activity 1: Make the Sign of the Cross: Use a washable marker to draw a cross on each other’s forehead or hand. As you do say “God loves you, God forgives you.” (NOTE: there will be distribution of ashes as part of Worship services & Faith Formation Classes on 2/26 due to weather cancelations on Ash Wed.)
Activity 2: God’s Love Reminder: Make a cross on a paper heart to remind your throughout Lent of God’s forgiving love.
“Dear God, that You for loving me so much that there’s nothing that can ever, ever, that would ever make You stop loving me. I love You, God! Amen”
Bless Each Other
At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.
Your ashes were your blessing! Take a selfie together to remember God loves & God forgives you!
