Volunteer Globally
Lutheran World Relief
The people of East Africa desperately need your help. The worst drought in 60 years has hit the region. Ten million people in Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia and Djibouti are affected. Crops have failed, livestock are dying, and families have no way to feed themselves.
Help LWR reach out to the people of East Africa.
Tens of thousands of people are walking for 15 days, by foot, to seek refuge at the Dadaab refugee camps in Kenya. But the camps were only built for 90,000 people. Right now, more than 370,000 people are living in Dadaab with 1,300 new arrivals each day.
Because the danger of famine in this region is so high, LWR is rushing $500,000 in immediate assistance to our partner, The Lutheran World Federation. LWF is working right now in the Dadaab refugee camps to help new arrivals and vulnerable populations access life saving services like food rations, shelter and other vitally services.
But the needs are still so great. Your emergency gift today will help increase our response.
Please join LWR in prayer for the people of East Africa and please give what you can to extend the compassion of Christ to your brothers and sisters in need.
