Children at Nativity!

At Nativity, developing families of faith is a mixture of teaching and talking about the stories of the Bible as well as modeling and establishing the rituals of faith through worship, prayer, service and caring conversations about their faith and values.  Faith is caught, not taught.  Faith formation happens when parents and children learn together the stories of God’s love and Jesus’ ministry based on the Bible.  The Beginner’s Bible and the Adventure Bible are the “textbooks” for the children and families.  Biblical concepts are also included in the faith formation classes.

Faith Formation For Children

All classes are introduced to Bible stories or concepts (Baptism, Pentecost, etc.) through activities that are explorative and “hands-on”.  Second through 5th graders learn the stories through themes on a rotation basis.  A story may be experienced through art, drama, cooking, computer or a video.

Three-year olds through 1st grade learn Bible stories through the use of the
Beginner’s Bible and exploration centers.

Faith Formation Classes are offered: Saturday evening, 5:30 p.m. and Sunday mornings, 9:00 & 10:15 a.m. Register early so that you may have your first choice for class time. We ask that the children be registered by August 10 so we can plan for staff and needed supplies/curriculum.
