In 1986, after traveling through many European countries and viewing the abundance of Art works depicting the Nativity event in museums and cathedrals, Marilyn Eberlein began to bring back small items (suitcase size) that would help tell the story of Nativity Lutheran Church, a new mission congregation in the St. Anthony community. Marilyn is a member of Nativity since 1958, and is the Adult Bible Instructor at present. She continues to be involved in acquiring new pieces as well as care for those already at Nativity.
Nativity's present collection of hanging art and Nativity sets continue to welcome the stranger and helps tell the story of the Nativity event.
The hanging art works include examples of Icons (the earliest accepted depiction of God) to the contemporary artists of today,
Nativity sets from many cultures are displayed year-round in permanent cases which can be viewed during worship services and regular office hours during the week. Tours can be arranged by calling Marilyn Eberlein at 612.789.8395 |
